A Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, Show Low Arizona
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

Mission

The mission of Just Love Them Ministries is to inspire, equip, and engage the body of Christ through the Church to bring orphans into a Christ-centered family structure and to encourage the provision and support for widows in need.

Goals

Just Love Them Ministries will:
  1. Reach out to show love through physical and emotional support for orphans and widows as encouraged by the Bible.
  2. Bring orphans into Christian homes to be raised in a Godly environment with a committed mother and father.
  3. Inform and communicate the importance of adoption in God's eyes to the church body and Christians in general.

How It Works

Just Love Them Ministries exists to directly meet the needs of orphans and widows. We do so by providing advice, guidance, support, and funding to those who are interested in adoption and directly to widows and orphans in need.

The Funds

Funds in Just Love Them Ministries are raised through individuals and organizations interested in helping meet the needs of orphans and widows. The funds gathered for Just Love Them Ministries are divided into 3 areas for use in this goal.
  • Loans: 50% of funds received by Just Love Them Ministries will be used to provide no-interest short-term loans to help with funding of adoptions. The loans will not exceed the sum of the Federal and State tax credits available for adoption (Currently $12,150 per child but that may be lowered and require “special needs” such as sibling groups in 2011; A bill is pending to extend existing credits past 2011).
  • Grants: 40% of the funds will be used to provide matching grants to the families. These grants will be provided along with information, guidance, and encouragement on helping to ask others in the body of Christ to help bring a child into a Christian home by donating to the matching fund.
  • Support: 10% of the funds collected by Just Love Them Ministries will be used for support of widows and orphans in need as decided by the Just Love Them Board.

The Process:

There is a process involved in granting, loaning, or giving funds for adoption expenses from Just Love Them Ministries. They are as follows:

For Members of Calvary Baptist Church:

  1. Pre-Application: A very short and basic form to determine how we can help you the best with your adoption goals and get to know any of your specific desires or needs up from.
  2. Guidance Interview: Based on your Pre-Application you will meet with 1-2 other families on the Just Love Them Board to help answer your questions and guide your next steps.
  3. Application: After the Guidance Interview you will be asked to fill out the Just Love Them application. This application will help the entire board know what needs you will have and how we can help you.
  4. Board Interview: After the application is turned in you will meet with the board to answer any questions about your application and for us to provide any answers to your questions.
  5. Board Recommend: The board will decide whether to recommend for adoption.
  6. Elder Approval: Once you have a board recommend your information will be presented to the elders of the church for approval.

For Members of Other Churches:

The process for members of others churches is very similar but instead of Elder Approval (Step 6) you will be required to receive a pastor recommend from the pastor of your church. In addition, the following requirements must be met:
  1. Church Status: The church you are attending must be a church of like-minded faith (hold the basic tenants of Christianity).
  2. Members in Good Standing: You must be a member in good standing (or the equivalent if your church does not have membership).

Requirements

There are NO requirements to talk to us and get guidance and advice. We highly encourage it and suggest that if you are interested in finding out more you fill out a pre-application and submit it to schedule a Guidance Interview. After that, the following are requirements to move forward:
  1. Christian Home: Our goal is to place children in a home with Christian parents (both mother and father) and this is a requirement for adoption assistance through Just Love Them Ministries. If you have questions on what we mean by “Christian” or if you are not certain that you would go to Heaven if you died today, please come talk to any member of the Just Love Them board.
  2. Home Study: After getting advice and counsel, the next step is to get your home study completed. Just Love Them Ministries has information on what type of home study you will need, options for where to get your home study, and connections you can use to receive a highly discounted price. Because the home study is the first step of financial commitment, Just Love Them Ministries will encourage and advise on home studies but will not help pay for them. Home studies can cost anywhere from $800 - $1800.

Funding Dispersement

Funds are loaned, granted, or given based on the recommendation of the Just Love Them Board. The board will follow a number of considerations for amounts and timing including:
  1. Need of applicant
  2. Funds available
  3. Total amount needed
  4. Priority adoptions (includes older children, children with special needs, siblings, etc)

Recommendations

Just Love Them Ministry has many contacts and a lot of internal experience with adoptions. If you are open, we have great recommendations as to locations, orphanages, agencies and more. If you are interested, please fill out a Pre-Application today.
